Under 11 Lead Coach – Doreen Morgan – Level 2 Coach
I played netball in PE lessons at school but nothing more. When I was 19 and working for the Inland Revenue, myself and some friends decided to start up a netball team for the sport, entertainment and social life (games were usually followed by a drink). Unfortunately I had to stop playing due to an injury.
In 2006 I decided to do my Community Sports Leader Award through the (then) PCT and part of the course was 10 hours volunteering. I chose Telford Netball Club as I had always enjoyed this sport so I completed my 10 hrs and 10 years later I am still here!
I have seen Telford Netball Club grow from 4 teams and 2 coaches to the great club that we have now.
I currently work with the U11’s. I enjoy their enthusiasm and love to see them develop their skills and confidence ready for when they move to our U14 teams.
Along the way I ran Women in Motion Back to Netball Sessions and currently am running the Back to Netball Sessions at Phoenix Sports Centre on a Monday evenings.
Other coaches are Bex Walsh, Niamh Carlin and Megan Bowen
